Nightlight

Nightlight Privacy Policy

Updated October 1, 2026

Nightlight is a baby journal for iPhone and iPad published by Glory Mae Dagapioso. This policy explains what happens to the information you enter.

The short version

  • Nightlight has no account, no ads and no servers of ours, and it collects no analytics.
  • Your journal is stored on your devices and in your own private iCloud database. We can't see it.
  • If you invite people, they see and edit the shared journal through iCloud.
  • Health-related details (notes, medicines, doses, temperatures, measurements) are stored in iCloud with encryption.
  • No AI or third-party service reads your baby's data.
  • Apple handles purchases of Nightlight Premium.

What the app stores

  • Your babies: name, birthday, sex (optional), colour and an optional photo.
  • Entries: feeds, sleep, diapers, pumping, solids, growth, temperatures, medicines and notes, with their times, who logged them, and optional photos.
  • Settings on each device: units, appearance, reminders, report language and your name on entries.

iCloud

If you're signed in to iCloud, the journal is kept in sync across your devices through Apple's CloudKit, in your private iCloud database, under Apple's privacy policy. The developer has no access to it. Fields with health details are stored using CloudKit encryption, with keys kept in your iCloud Keychain. Without iCloud, the journal stays on the device.

Sharing

When you invite someone through Family and sharing, iOS sends them a link, and the people who accept can read and change the shared journal. You can remove people or stop sharing at any time; they then lose access to it. Reports and exports leave your device only when you share them, with the app or person you choose.

Photos

When you add a photo to an entry or to your baby's profile, you choose it in the system photo picker, and the app receives only the photo you pick. Photos are stored with the journal (and in iCloud if you use it). The app doesn't use the camera.

Imports

Files you import from another app are read on your device and are not sent anywhere.

Notifications

Reminders are scheduled on your device. Sync uses Apple's push service only to tell the app that iCloud has changes; no journal content is sent in notifications.

Purchases

Nightlight Premium subscriptions and the one-time purchase go through Apple's App Store, under Apple's privacy policy. We don't receive your name, email address or payment details.

Children

Nightlight is made for parents and caregivers, not for children. Information about a child is entered by their parent or caregiver and stays in that person's iCloud; we don't collect it.

This website

apphunt.app uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It records the usual web request information — pages viewed, approximate region, browser and device type — and does not identify you. The app does not use it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
