Mute privacy policy
Updated September 20, 2026
This policy covers the Mute iPhone app, published by Glory Mae Dagapioso, and the Mute pages on apphunt.app. App privacy practices have been effective since September 16, 2026.
Information handled by Mute
Mute has no accounts, advertisements or third-party analytics SDK. We do not collect or sell Screen Time reports. Optional AI features introduced in version 1.1 use our AppHunt server and Anthropic with your permission, as described below.
Schedules, preferences and app selections are stored on your iPhone. Mute shares configuration and opaque selection tokens with its own extensions through an App Group so that scheduled restrictions can work. Apple’s Screen Time picker manages app choices. Screen Time usage reports are rendered in an isolated report extension and are not sent to us.
Optional cloud AI and Mute Plus (version 1.1)
When you choose an AI feature and agree to the current in-app disclosure, Mute sends your quiz answers, goal, feedback, language, proposed schedule times and days, self-reported check-ins, and a summary of Mute restriction-window outcomes through our AppHunt server to Anthropic (Claude). You may optionally select a screenshot: text is recognized on your iPhone, and only text you review and confirm is included in the request. The image itself is not uploaded. Mute does not automatically export the system Screen Time report, app selection tokens, messages from other apps, or location. Information you type or confirm may contain personal details, so review it before sharing. Internet access is required; Apple Intelligence is not required. You can decline, use free blocking and templates, or withdraw consent on the Your plan screen. Withdrawal stops future AI requests; it does not undo a request already processed.
Mute keeps a local record of its own restriction windows for up to 90 days, including their start and expected end, observed outcome and an optional reason for ending a manual session. This is not a record of time spent in other apps. Your saved goal remains until you delete it. Use Your plan → Delete goal and history to remove this data; existing schedules remain and later sessions can create a new history.
Subscriptions are purchased and managed through Apple. Mute checks StoreKit transactions on your device and sends signed transaction proof to our server to verify paid AI access with Apple. We do not receive payment card details. Canceling Plus does not delete saved schedules or disable free blocking. Subscription management and refunds follow Apple’s policies.
Our AI endpoint processes request text and generated responses to answer you; it does not intentionally persist or log them. Anthropic processes API requests under its commercial terms and normally deletes inputs and outputs within 30 days, with policy exceptions. We do not claim zero retention. Read Anthropic’s data-retention explanation.
To limit abuse and verify access, our server stores request counters indexed by a hash of a random installation identifier, a subscription identifier, or a daily IP-address hash. It removes inactive Mute quota records older than 90 days during request processing. The random installation identifier is stored in the iPhone Keychain and can survive reinstalling Mute; it is not an advertising identifier. These counters contain no goals, feedback or Screen Time reports. Deleting your goal and history clears those local records and does not reset subscription rights or anti-abuse counters. Contact support@apphunt.app for data requests.
Netlify hosts our website and AI endpoint and receives the technical request information needed to deliver and secure the service, including IP addresses. Apple receives subscription-validation requests. A free assessment summarizes your answers and suggests a direction. Detailed seven-day programs and requested adaptations require Mute Plus. Free assessments and paid AI requests have usage limits; saved blocking rules continue to operate without an AI response. Quiz answers, assessments, programs and check-ins are stored on your device. You can delete them in Your plan without disabling your schedules. Optional local program reminders require notification permission; cloud AI does not monitor your phone in the background.
Optional location
Antitoxic Time can use your location to calculate local sunset and nightfall. Coordinates are stored locally and used for calculations on your iPhone. Mute does not send them to us or track location in the background. You can choose a city instead of granting location permission.
City search uses Apple Maps and requires an internet connection. The city name you enter is sent to Apple to retrieve matching places and their time zones. The selected place is saved on your iPhone; schedule calculations run locally. Mute has no developer backend receiving these searches.
Your choices
You can end sessions and disable all restrictions in Mute Settings. Screen Time and location permissions can be revoked in iOS Settings. Deleting Mute removes its local app data; device backups are managed by iOS and your Apple settings.
Apple services
iOS, App Store Connect and TestFlight may process diagnostics, distribution information or other data under Apple’s policies and your settings. Mute does not add an analytics SDK or upload Screen Time reports.
Contacting support
If you contact support@apphunt.app, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send, and use them to respond to your request. Please do not include sensitive Screen Time reports or unnecessary personal information.
This website
The Mute pages do not use analytics services, advertising trackers or account sign-in. Netlify, our hosting provider, receives ordinary web requests, including technical information such as an IP address, to deliver and secure the pages. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives the requests needed to deliver them. This website activity is separate from data stored inside the Mute app.
These pages link to other AppHunt apps and offers. If you follow a link to another part of AppHunt, its services and the AppHunt privacy policy apply. No Screen Time data or app selections are sent through these links.
Changes
We will update this page and its date if the way Mute handles information changes. For questions, email support@apphunt.app and include “Mute” in the subject.
