Who we are
AppHunt ("we", "us") operates the website apphunt.app and the AppHunt iOS app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can delete it. Questions: support@apphunt.app.
What we collect
No account is needed to browse promo codes, track app prices or ask the app consultant. Signing in adds Hunt Points, code unlocks and syncing across devices.
- Price tracking — when you track an app the iOS app sends a random installation identifier it generated on your device (not tied to your name, email or Apple ID) together with the App Store id of the app. We store that pair so our servers can check the price every hour and, if you turned notifications on, send you an alert. If you sign in, the list moves to your account. Untracking an app deletes the record.
- App consultant — the questions you type into the consultant are sent to our server and forwarded to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the recommendation. AppHunt does not store your questions or the answers; we only count requests per installation or account for daily limits. Anthropic processes the text under its API terms and may retain it for a limited period for abuse prevention. Do not enter personal information into the consultant.
- Account data — when you register we store your email address, the name you enter and a hashed password. With Sign in with Apple we store the identifier Apple assigns to you and the email Apple shares (which may be a private relay address).
- Redemption events — when you copy or redeem a promo code we record which code was used, the time, your IP address, the country derived from that IP, and your browser or app user agent. This is used to enforce per-code limits and to show developers how their codes perform.
- Hunt Points — the iOS app has an in-app points balance ("Hunt Points", HP) earned by signing up, daily check-ins, streaks and inviting friends, and spent to unlock promo codes. We keep a ledger of these points, the codes you unlocked and the offers you saved, tied to your account. Hunt Points have no cash value and cannot be withdrawn, transferred or exchanged.
- Purchases — HP packs bought through Apple in-app purchase are processed by Apple; we never see your payment details. We store the App Store transaction identifier, product, price and date so the points can be credited once and refunds can be handled.
- Referrals — if you share your invite code and a friend enters it, we link the two accounts so both of you receive the referral bonus. To prevent abuse, sign-up and referral bonuses are limited per device; for that we store a one-way hash of an identifier assigned by iOS to the app on your device.
- Push notifications (optional) — if you turn on notifications in the app we store the device token Apple assigns to your app, plus which notifications you opted into (price alerts for tracked apps, code of the day, expiring saved codes, streak reminders). You can turn them off at any time in Profile → Notifications or in iOS Settings; the token is then deleted.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data.
- We don't use your data for cross-app advertising or tracking.
- We don't show third-party ads.
Third-party services
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, Apple Push Notification service, App Store redemption links, and public App Store metadata (icons, prices, ratings) fetched from Apple's iTunes API, and the in-app App Store product page.
- Anthropic — the Claude API generates the app consultant's recommendations from the question you type.
- Supabase — database hosting (EU region).
- Netlify — website and API hosting.
- ip-api.com — country lookup for redemption events.
- Google Firebase Analytics — anonymous usage statistics on the website.
Retention and deletion
We keep account data while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account in the iOS app, or by emailing support@apphunt.app. Deletion removes your account, Hunt Points, purchase records, unlocked codes, saved offers, referral links and push tokens; redemption counters are kept in anonymized form so developers' code statistics stay accurate.
Children
AppHunt is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the effective date above.
