10 Best Free Ukulele Tuner Apps for iPhone
Updated October 2, 2026 · written by AppHunt
A ukulele has only four strings, but they slip out of tune often — new nylon strings keep stretching for days — so a tuner on the phone gets a lot of use. The differences are in the details: whether the app spots the string by itself, whether it covers low G or baritone, and how many ads come with it. Here are ten, in our own words.

Acord
AppHunt partner · promo codeAcord tunes a ukulele in standard G-C-E-A for free, with no ads and no account: pluck a string and Acord points out the note and the direction to turn the peg, turning each string green once it's in tune. Premium adds low G and guitalele, a strobe display and any reference pitch, plus the metronome's extra tools — free for a year with our promo code.

Tunio Ukulele Tuner
Tunio's ukulele-only tuner offers an auto mode that spots the string you pluck and a manual mode for strings that are far off. Presets run from soprano to baritone, plus slack key and open tunings. Free use is ad-supported and limited: extra tunings and most chords require Premium.
Good for: Players who want many tunings and a chord trainer
Keep in mind: Ads in the free tier; Premium is a $4.99 weekly plan (per US reviews) or a $24.99 one-time unlock. Some 2025–2026 US reviews say they could not tune without subscribing.

Questions and answers
Is there a free ukulele tuner app?
Yes. All ten apps here are free to download. LikeTones and Simple Tuner have nothing to buy, Kala's tuner is free inside an app that sells lessons, and several others are free with ads. Acord tunes standard G-C-E-A for free with no ads, and its Premium is free for a year with the AppHunt promo code.
What are the ukulele tuning notes?
Standard tuning is G-C-E-A, from the string nearest your chin to the one nearest the floor: G4, C4, E4 and A4, with the A at 440 Hz. The G is a high, re-entrant G tuned above the C, which gives the ukulele its bright sound.
What is low G tuning?
Low G drops the G string an octave, to G3 at 196 Hz, for a deeper, more guitar-like range; it usually takes a thicker string. Kala, EM-1 and Ukulele String Tuner offer a low-G option, and in Acord it comes with Premium.
How do I tune a baritone ukulele?
A baritone uses D-G-B-E (D3, G3, B3, E4), the same notes as the four thinnest strings of a guitar. Kala, LikeTones, Daikyouju, Tunio, EM-1 and Ukulele String Tuner include baritone presets.
How do I tune a ukulele with my iPhone?
Open a tuner app, allow microphone access and pluck one string at a time in a quiet room. The app shows the note and whether it is flat or sharp; turn the peg until the indicator settles in the middle, then check all four strings once more. Expect to retune often while the strings are new.
How do I tune a ukulele without a tuner?
Get one string right against a piano, a pitch pipe or an online reference — usually the A. Then press the E string at the 5th fret and match it to the open A, the C string at the 4th fret to match the open E, and the G string at the 2nd fret to match the open A (an octave lower on a low-G ukulele).
Is the Kala ukulele app free?
The tuner is: it handles soprano, concert, tenor and baritone ukuleles, low G included, without paying, and the first lessons and the chord library are free as well. The full songbook and lesson path need a subscription, and reviewers say the app asks you to create an account.
Which ukulele tuner has no ads?
Acord, LikeTones, Simple Tuner and Kala show no ads. Daikyouju, Tunio, TrueStudio, EM-1 and Ukulele All carry ads; Ukulele String Tuner sells nothing, but its privacy label declares data used for advertising.
Can I use a guitar tuner app for a ukulele?
Yes. Big general tuners such as Fender Tune, GuitarTuna and Simply Tune have a ukulele mode, and any chromatic tuner works once you know the four target notes. We compared those apps in a separate list. 10 best free guitar tuner apps
How do I use the Acord promo code?
Tap Get on the Acord card. If you are not signed in to AppHunt you will be asked to log in, and the code appears right after. Redeem opens the App Store's own redemption screen with the code filled in.
How is the list ordered?
First place is Acord, an app made by the AppHunt team, with a promo code. Places 2–10 are ukulele-first apps ordered by the number of ratings in the US App Store, one app per developer; general tuners with a ukulele mode are in our guitar tuner list instead.
