Only in part. ShutEye says some basic features work without a subscription, while detailed sleep tracking and tailored insights need Premium, which the App Store lists at $9.99 a month or $59.99 a year; first-time subscribers can get a 7-day trial. These are US App Store prices on November 2, 2026, and they may change.
Is ShutEye free?
The app is free to download, and ShutEye's FAQ says a few basic features work without a subscription. It doesn't publish a list of which ones. Many US reviews from September and October 2026 describe the same experience: a sleep questionnaire first, then a screen offering a trial and a yearly plan, with no obvious way to carry on for free. Treat that as what reviewers say rather than a rule, and check the paywall on your own phone before you enter details.
How much does ShutEye cost?
ShutEye says the deeper sleep tracking and tailored insights are Premium features. The App Store text sums up the paid side as VIP access to its sound library, bedtime stories, a smart alarm, a sleep tracker that also follows snoring, and Apple Health saving, billed as one yearly subscription. The In-App Purchases list shows 1-month Premium at $9.99, a 1-year plan at $59.99, a Family Plan at $59.99 a year, and several limited offers: $29.99 for two products and $19.99 for a six-month one. The listing doesn't say what each of those includes or when they are offered. These are US prices on November 2, 2026, and they may change.

Nod or ShutEye: how they compare
Nod, made by the AppHunt team, covers the part of ShutEye that many people open it for: sounds, a timer and an alarm. Rain, ocean waves, a fan and white, pink and brown noise are generated live on the phone, so nothing loops. The free version has 22 sounds with no time limit, mixes of three sounds, a sleep timer that fades out and a wake-up alarm; there are no ads, no account and nothing collected. Premium unlocks the other 34 sounds, bigger mixes and all the alarm tones, and it becomes free with AppHunt's promo code from apphunt.app/app/nod-premium. Nod doesn't track your sleep. It has no microphone recording, no snoring detection, no sleep score, no bedtime stories and no family plan, so if the nightly report is what you want from ShutEye, Nod won't replace it. Nod is also for iPhone and iPad only, as ShutEye has an Android version too.

ShutEye: questions and answers
Is ShutEye free?
Partly. ShutEye says a few basic features work without subscribing, but the deeper sleep tracking and tailored insights need a Premium plan, and it doesn't list exactly which features are free. Many recent US reviews say the app pushes a trial or yearly plan right after the setup questions, so look at the paywall before you go through them.
How much does ShutEye cost?
The US App Store lists 1-month Premium at $9.99 and a 1-year plan at $59.99, plus a Family Plan at $59.99 a year and limited-time products at $29.99 and $19.99 (six months). The listing doesn't explain what each includes. US prices on November 2, 2026; they may change.
Is there a ShutEye promo code?
AppHunt has no promo code for ShutEye, and ShutEye's own pages don't advertise any. If you mostly need sleep sounds and an alarm, Nod is free, and our promo code on apphunt.app/app/nod-premium unlocks its Premium.
Does ShutEye have a free trial?
Yes. ShutEye says first-time subscribers can get a 7-day trial of the premium features, and that it may not be offered to people who subscribed before. Several reviewers say they were charged for a full year after the trial, so set a reminder and cancel before it ends.
How do I cancel ShutEye?
Cancel where you bought it: ShutEye's site, the App Store or Google Play. On an iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, choose Subscriptions, pick ShutEye and cancel. Deleting the app does not cancel the plan, and ShutEye advises cancelling before the trial ends. Refunds for App Store purchases go through Apple; ShutEye's support handles website purchases.
What is the best free alternative to ShutEye?
For sleep sounds, Nod is a free app for iPhone and iPad from the AppHunt team: 22 sounds with no limit, mixes, a fading sleep timer and a gentle alarm, with no account or ads. It doesn't record or score your sleep and has no snoring detection, so it doesn't replace ShutEye's tracker.
