Flo app: is it free, what Flo Premium costs and a free alternative
FLO HEALTH UK LIMITED · Health & Fitness · ★ 4.7, 2M ratings in the US App Store · Free to download
AppHunt has no promo code for Flo, but we have one for the alternative below.
Best free alternative to Flo: Rivula
Flo's period and ovulation predictions are free, but its insights, patterns, Health Assistant and doctor's report need Premium. Rivula, from the AppHunt team, predicts a range for your next period, fertile window and ovulation without an account or ads, and its logging, reminders, widgets and every mode are free. With the AppHunt promo code you get the full version of Rivula for free, for good.
Yes, the basics: the Flo app costs nothing to download, and Flo says you can use its basic version for as long as you like, with period and ovulation predictions, more than 80 symptoms to log, custom reminders, Anonymous Mode and the Secret Chats community. Daily insights, cycle patterns, the Health Assistant, the doctor's report and detailed pregnancy tracking need Flo Premium, which the US App Store lists from $1.99 to $59.99 without saying which price is which plan; these are US App Store prices on October 30, 2026, and they may change.
Is Flo free?
Flo is free to download on iPhone and Android, and its help center says you can use the basic version for as long as you like. Once you add your period dates, that version forecasts when your period, ovulation and fertile window are due, lets you log more than 80 symptoms and events and offers custom reminders, including ones for birth control or medication. It also has Anonymous Mode, which opens the app without your name or email attached to your health data, the Secret Chats community, and the basic parts of Flo for Partners. Flo's own pages disagree about Secret Chats: its site and help center count them as free, but its App Store text lists them under Premium. Everything else sits behind paywalls, and Flo says offers to upgrade can arrive in stories, pop-ups, push notifications and emails; if you close them without confirming payment, you keep the free version and aren't charged. Flo's App Store text adds that it gives no medical advice or diagnosis and can't be used for contraception or as an aid to conceive.
How much does Flo cost?
Flo Premium is a subscription. Flo's pages say it adds cycle patterns, daily health insight stories, articles, videos and audio from more than 100 health experts, unlimited chats with the Health Assistant, the Symptom Checker (not offered in the UK or EU), cycle trends, a personalized doctor's report on iPhone that covers your last six months, detailed pregnancy tracking, a Guided Journey and extra content for the partner in Flo for Partners. The help center says Flo sells monthly and yearly plans, with a yearly plan paid in one payment up front, and another article also mentions weekly ones; it doesn't print prices. The US App Store lists Flo Premium at $1.99 (twice), $7.49, $14.99, $47.99 and $59.99. It also shows $11.49 and $14.99 for Flo Ovulation & Health tracker, $49.99 for Flo Pregnancy Tracker and $43.99 for Flo Birth Control Reminder, and it doesn't say which price is which plan or what the other three plans include. Flo says it often runs promotional offers, and US reviewers quote yearly prices from about $23 to $70. According to the App Store text, Flo Premium is HSA and FSA eligible. These are US App Store prices on October 30, 2026, and they may change.

Rivula or Flo: how they compare
Rivula, made by the AppHunt team, covers the core of Flo's free tier without asking for an account. It predicts your next period, fertile window and ovulation as ranges that narrow as you log more cycles, and logging, a calendar with your cycle history, reminders, widgets and Siri are free, as are syncing with Apple Health, backups, sharing your predicted dates with a partner and its cycle, conception, pregnancy and perimenopause modes. There are no ads, and the journal stays on your iPhone. Rivula Pro adds pattern insights, temperature and LH charts and a PDF report for your doctor; it costs $29.99 a year, $5.99 a month or $59.99 once, and AppHunt has a promo code that unlocks it at apphunt.app/app/rivula-pro. Rivula's predictions are estimates; it isn't contraception and doesn't diagnose anything. It also does much less than Flo: no articles, videos or community chats, only a small on-device assistant that needs a recent iPhone, a shorter symptom list (20-plus, plus moods and your own tags, against more than 70 symptoms and moods in Flo), no Android version and, because nothing is stored on a server, no sync of its own between devices. It is new, too, with no ratings yet.

Is Flo free?
Partly. The Flo app costs nothing to download, and Flo says its basic version has no time limit: period and ovulation predictions, more than 80 symptoms to log, custom reminders, Anonymous Mode and, per its help center, the Secret Chats community. Flo Premium adds daily insights, cycle patterns and trends, the Health Assistant, the doctor's report, detailed pregnancy tracking and more. If you cancel Premium, your logs stay and the free version keeps working.
How much does Flo cost?
In the US App Store, Flo Premium is listed at $1.99 (twice), $7.49, $14.99, $47.99 and $59.99. The listing also shows $11.49 and $14.99 for Flo Ovulation & Health tracker, $49.99 for Flo Pregnancy Tracker and $43.99 for Flo Birth Control Reminder, without saying which price is monthly or yearly or what the extra plans contain. Flo says it offers monthly and yearly plans and often runs promotions, and US reviewers quote yearly prices anywhere from about $23 to $70. US prices on October 30, 2026; they may change.
Is there a Flo promo code?
AppHunt has no promo code for Flo. Flo says it issues its own codes: they take money off Premium for a set period shown at checkout, after which the full price applies, and they work only if you have no active Premium subscription. It says it posts them on its social accounts, partner sites and Health Library articles and sends some by email. Flo says monthly and yearly Premium subscriptions bought since October 12, 2024 are eligible for HSA or FSA reimbursement. If the free tracking is all you need, Rivula is free to use, and AppHunt has a promo code that unlocks Rivula Pro at apphunt.app/app/rivula-pro.
Does Flo have a free trial?
Yes. Flo says most Premium offers start with a free trial that can be used once, after which the plan renews on its own at the paid price unless you cancel in your phone's settings no later than a day before the renewal. Flo's help center doesn't give the trial's length, and US reviewers describe different offers, from a 14-day trial to a $1 introductory price; several say they were charged for a full year when the trial ended, and a few say the charge came as soon as they started.
How do I cancel Flo Premium?
If you subscribed through the App Store, open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, choose Subscriptions, pick Flo and tap Cancel Subscription, no later than a day before the trial or period ends. If you subscribed on Flo's website, log in at app.flo.health, open your profile and choose Subscriptions. Canceling stops future charges but doesn't refund one already made: Apple handles refund requests for App Store purchases at reportaproblem.apple.com, and Flo's team handles website ones. Your data is kept, and the free version keeps working.
