Clear Wave app: is it free, what Clear Wave Premium costs and a free alternative

AppHunt has no promo code for Clear Wave, but we have one for the alternative below.
Best free alternative to Clear Wave: Unda
Clear Wave's description says Premium unlocks unlimited sound tests and an unlimited dB meter, and its plans run from $9.99 a week to $69.99 for life. Unda, made by the AppHunt team, runs its water eject program, every speaker and microphone test and a decibel meter free with no limits and no ads. With the AppHunt promo code you get the full version of Unda for free, for good.
The Clear Wave app is free to download, but its developer, Appchi, says Premium unlocks unlimited sound testing, an unlimited dB meter and an ad-free experience, which implies the free version limits the tests and the meter and shows ads; it doesn't spell out the limits. The US App Store lists Premium at $9.99 a week, $14.99 a month, $29.99 for six months, $49.99 a year and $69.99 for life; these are US App Store prices on November 3, 2026, and they may change.
Is Clear Wave free?
Clear Wave costs nothing to install on iPhone. Appchi's App Store description says the app plays sounds to test your speakers, shows decibel and hertz readings through a sound level meter and can tell you whether your microphone is clogged. It then lists what Premium adds: unlimited sound testing, an unlimited dB meter and no ads. Read together, that means the free version caps the sound tests and the meter and shows ads, but neither the listing nor Appchi's website says how large the caps are or which tests are included. Reviewers fill in part of the picture: a 2024 reviewer was delighted that the app cleared water from a phone dropped in a toilet, then complained that it asks for payment when a free alternative exists, and an April 2026 reviewer calls the price ridiculous for a tool you only need after getting a phone wet, adding that the free trial starts only after you pick a subscription.
How much does Clear Wave cost?
The App Store description names five Premium plans, and the In-App Purchases list matches them price for price: $9.99 weekly, $14.99 monthly, $29.99 for six months, $49.99 a year and $69.99 once as Clear Wave - Lifetime. The purchase names inside the App Store are unusual, such as Decibel meter, hz sound level and Eject clear sound from speaker, so each plan is labeled by a feature phrase rather than a length. Appchi's text says a subscription with a free trial renews automatically into a paid plan, but it doesn't say which plan offers a trial or how many days it lasts. Payment goes through your Apple Account, and you can switch renewal off in Account Settings a day ahead of the period's end. Appchi's site does not publish a separate pricing page. These are US App Store prices on November 3, 2026, and they may change.
| Decibel meter, hz sound level | $9.99 |
| Eject clear sound from speaker | $14.99 |
| Noise meter sound level, tone | $29.99 |
| Clear speaker sound ejection | $49.99 |
| Clear Wave - Lifetime | $69.99 |
Unda or Clear Wave: how they compare
Unda: Water Eject / Speaker Cleaner is an iPhone and iPad app from the AppHunt team, released on September 25, 2026. Its main program plays a low 165 Hz tone for a minute so trapped droplets vibrate loose, and afterwards a test sound lets you mark the speaker clearer or still muffled, with each answer kept so you can judge whether another cycle helped. Other programs cover the earpiece, headphones and dust. Alongside sit a 20 Hz to 20 kHz sweep, a stereo test, a four-second microphone check, a tone generator and an A-weighted decibel meter. Unda states there are no limits on its water eject program or on any test, and it asks for no account and shows no ads. That is the area where Clear Wave sells Premium. Unda's paid Premium tier covers two extra programs (Full Care and Vibration), camera photos marked with the noise reading, more waveforms and ultrasonic presets, and AppHunt has a promo code that unlocks it at apphunt.app/app/unda-premium; the card on that page shows the current terms. What Unda lacks is a track record: it is brand new with no ratings, against Clear Wave's 37,207. Like any sound-based cleaner it cannot repair physical damage, and neither app is a certified measuring instrument.

The listing says only that a plan with a trial period renews on its own into a paid plan; it doesn't say which plan has a trial or how long it lasts. An April 2026 reviewer says the trial starts only after you sign up for a subscription, so cancel a day before it ends if you don't want to be charged.
How do I cancel Clear Wave?
Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose Clear Wave and cancel, a day before the renewal date. Deleting the app does not stop the billing. The lifetime purchase is a one-time payment and has nothing to cancel. Refund requests for App Store purchases go through Apple.
What do reviews of Clear Wave say?
