Best free alternative to Brickit: Noppi

Reviewers say Brickit's free version stops after a few scans a day. Noppi, an independent app, scans a pile of bricks from one photo as often as you like and suggests models built from exactly the pieces you have. With the AppHunt promo code you get the full version of Noppi for free, for good.

The Brickit app is free to download and use, with limits: Brickit says some features are paid Pro extras without listing them, and US reviews from 2025 and 2026 describe a few free scans a day, most often three, and Pro badges on some builds. Brickit Pro is listed at $6.99 a month or $34.99 to $79.99 a year, and two yearly plans, at $44.99 and $64.99, begin with a free trial; these are US App Store prices on October 29, 2026, and they may change.

Is Brickit free?

Brickit says the app is free and that some of its features are paid Pro extras, and it costs nothing to download on iPhone, iPad or Android, but neither Brickit's website nor its App Store page says what the free version includes or how many scans it allows. Its privacy policy adds that you can use the app without giving any personal details, and that the account some features need can be an anonymous one. Beyond that, the picture comes from reviews. US reviewers in 2025 and 2026 describe a few free scans a day, most often three in recent months, after which the app asks them to upgrade; they also say some builds are Pro-only, and that Brickit points out some of the pieces in your pile only with Pro. Brickit's own App Store screenshots show a Pro switch on the scan screen and a Pro badge on one of its puzzles.

How much does Brickit cost?

Brickit's description of Pro is a single broad line about advanced features and extra options for scanning, building and organizing. The US App Store lists Brickit Pro (1 Month) at $6.99 and Brickit Pro (1 Year) at six different prices, $34.99, $39.99, $44.99, $64.99, $74.99 and $79.99, plus Brickit Pro (Trial + 1 Year) at $44.99 and $64.99, without saying which one you'll be shown; the price reviewers mention most is $64.99 a year, charged once a seven-day trial ends. Some people pay Brickit directly rather than Apple: its site has its own payment confirmation page, its terms mention paying by card, and reviewers say trials started that way were billed through Stripe and never showed up among their Apple subscriptions. The App Store says some purchases can be shared with Family Sharing, though two 2026 reviews say sharing with their kids didn't work. Schools and camps can buy Brickit for Classes, a separate $79.99 iPad app that leaves out the social features and covers up to 10 student devices, and Brickit offers 50% off bulk educational purchases. These are US App Store prices on October 29, 2026, and they may change.

Noppi or Brickit: how they compare

Noppi: Brick Scanner & Counter, an independent iPhone app by Kaye Romero released on October 28, 2026, does the core job with no daily cap on scans. Spread your bricks out and take one photo: Noppi outlines, names, counts and colors each piece on the phone, with no account and nothing uploaded, and flags the pieces it isn't sure about so you can fix them. Its 42 build ideas, from animals and robots to vehicles, buildings and pixel art, are matched to the shapes and colors you have, with 3D step-by-step instructions that can show where each piece lies in your photo, and a list of anything missing. Scanning, the brick list and seven ideas (six fixed, one that changes daily) are free; Noppi Pro ($19.99 a year with a 7-day trial, $3.99 a week or $39.99 once in the US) opens all 42 ideas and CSV export, works with Family Sharing, and becomes free for good with AppHunt's promo code at apphunt.app/app/noppi-pro, which unlocks Noppi Pro Lifetime (one code per Apple Account). Noppi is much smaller, though: 240 common parts against the 1,600 Brickit says it recognizes, 42 ideas against the thousands its listing mentions, no puzzles, no feed, nothing new from other builders and no bag-by-bag storage system like Pockets, and it is made for iPhone only, with no iPad or Android version. It is also brand new, with no ratings yet.

It runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 15 or later and on Android, and version 5.7.3 came out on October 24, 2026. Brickit: questions and answers

Is the Brickit app free?

It is free to download and to start using, and Brickit says some features are paid Pro extras, but it doesn't publish where the line falls. Reviewers on the free version describe a handful of scans a day, most often three in recent months, and some builds reserved for Pro. Brickit's privacy policy says you can use the app without handing over personal details. Pro costs $6.99 a month or $34.99 to $79.99 a year in the US App Store (October 29, 2026; prices may change).

How much does Brickit Pro cost?

In the US App Store, a month of Brickit Pro is $6.99. A year is listed at $34.99, $39.99, $44.99, $64.99, $74.99 or $79.99, and the two yearly plans that begin with a trial cost $44.99 and $64.99; the listing doesn't explain who is offered which price, and the one reviewers name most often is $64.99. Brickit for Classes, the edition for schools, is a separate $79.99 purchase. US prices on October 29, 2026; they may change.

Is there a Brickit promo code?

AppHunt has no promo code for Brickit, and Brickit's website and App Store listing don't mention any codes or coupons for Pro. The one discount Brickit advertises is for schools: 50% off bulk educational purchases of Brickit for Classes. If a free scanner does the job for you, Noppi is free to use, and our promo code at apphunt.app/app/noppi-pro unlocks Noppi Pro Lifetime for free, for good, with one code per Apple Account.

Does Brickit have a free trial?

Brickit's listing says only that a trial may be offered, and two of its yearly plans are named Trial + 1 Year ($44.99 and $64.99 in the US). Most reviewers describe seven free days that turn into a $64.99 charge for a year; a few mention three or five days. If you start one, cancel at least a day before it ends, and note that unused trial days are lost if you buy Pro before then.

How do I cancel Brickit Pro?

If you subscribed through the App Store, open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose Brickit and cancel, at least a day before the renewal date; deleting the app doesn't stop the billing. If you paid Brickit directly with a card, the plan won't be listed there: reviewers say those charges came through Stripe, so write to Brickit at team@brickit.app. Brickit's terms say a canceled plan lasts until the end of the period you paid for and then drops back to the free version, and that Brickit doesn't refund fees; Apple handles refund requests for App Store purchases.

What do reviews of the Brickit app say?

Brickit has 22,684 ratings averaging 4.5 in the US App Store. In 2025 and 2026 reviews, people like the way it points out pieces in a pile, the step-by-step builds and the feed for sharing what they made, and several note that the iPhone app shows no ads. The usual complaints are the cap on free scans, builds that are marked Pro or call for pieces you don't have, misread pieces, the need to spread bricks thinly over a big surface, and being charged once a free trial ends. It suits a large pile and a family willing to pay for Pro.

What is the best free alternative to Brickit?

Among apps like Brickit, Noppi: Brick Scanner & Counter, an independent iPhone app by Kaye Romero, is free for the basics with no daily cap on scans. It reads a pile from one photo on the phone, with no account or upload, and names, counts and colors the pieces, and seven of its 42 build ideas are free, each with 3D instructions and a list of missing pieces; our promo code unlocks Noppi Pro Lifetime for free. It knows 240 common parts against Brickit's 1,600 and has no community, puzzles, iPad or Android version, so Brickit remains the bigger app. Our list of free LEGO scanner apps has more options.

Is Brickit an official LEGO app?

No. Brickit and Noppi are independent apps: Brickit is made by Brickit Inc. and Noppi by the developer Kaye Romero, and neither comes from the LEGO Group. The LEGO Group owns the LEGO® trademark and has not sponsored, authorized or endorsed these apps or this page.

AppHunt is not affiliated with Brickit inc. Prices are US App Store prices checked on October 29, 2026 and can change; your country’s store may show different prices.
