Open a PDF and keep your original

Choose Open PDF or Import PDF and select a document from the system file picker. Folbrio creates a working copy in its local library. The original imported file stays separate. Supported imports are unencrypted PDFs up to 40 MB and 200 pages.

Edit existing text

Choose Edit, select an editable paragraph, and type directly on the page. Use Aa to adjust formatting, then Done to save the active edit. Cancel discards its draft. Text reflows inside the selected box; it does not automatically flow through the entire document. See the PDF text editing guide.

Add or change an image

Choose Add image above the document to insert a picture. The Images tool selects supported pictures already on the page. Move or resize a selected picture using its handles, or use its available replace, duplicate and remove actions. See how to add an image to a PDF.

Sign and annotate

Choose Signature to draw your signature and place it on the page. Text adds a text annotation; Highlight marks a passage. Use Move to select, reposition or remove added annotations. A drawn signature is a visual annotation, not a certificate-based digital signature. See the PDF signature guide.

Recognize scanned text

Open more tools and choose Recognize & edit page. Review the on-device recognition preview before applying it. OCR may misread text or substitute fonts. Check names, numbers, punctuation and line breaks carefully. See the scanned PDF guide.

Organize and combine pages

Open the page counter to see page thumbnails. Reorder, rotate, duplicate or remove pages, or add another PDF to the document. At least one page must remain. Save your changes before exporting.

Export a finished document

Choose Export, then use the system interface to select a destination. Reopen the exported PDF and check every changed page. Changes in the Folbrio working copy do not update an earlier export automatically. Keep exported backups of important documents.

Devices, languages and storage

Folbrio requires iOS 17 or later, iPadOS 17 or later, or macOS 14 or later. Camera scanning is available on iPhone and iPad. Each device has its own local library; Folbrio does not sync documents between devices. Export a PDF and transfer it using your chosen file service when you need it elsewhere.

The interface is available in English, Russian, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Korean and Simplified Chinese. Interface language support is separate from how well OCR can recognize a particular document.
