Curat Privacy Policy

Updated September 24, 2026

Curat is a photo, video and contacts cleaner for iPhone, iPad and Mac published by Glory Mae Dagapioso. This policy explains what happens to the information the app handles.

The short version

Curat has no account, no ads and no servers. Your photos, videos and contacts are analyzed on your device. Nothing is uploaded to us or to anyone else. We don't collect, sell or share any personal data, and the app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code. Nothing is deleted without your confirmation, and Apple handles purchases of Curat Premium.

Photos and videos

With your permission, Curat reads your photo library to find similar shots, duplicates, blurry photos, screenshots, screen recordings, large videos and Live Photos. It computes small numeric fingerprints, sharpness and quality scores on your device and keeps them in the app's private storage so later scans are faster. These values can't be turned back into your photos, never leave your device, and are deleted with the app or with Rescan the whole library in Settings.

Photos and videos are deleted only after you confirm in the iOS dialog, and they stay in Recently Deleted for 30 days. When you compress a video or convert a Live Photo, the new copy is saved to your library with the original date and place.

Contacts

Curat reads your contacts only after you open the Contacts tab and allow access. It compares names, numbers and email addresses on your device to find duplicates. Before merging or deleting cards it writes a vCard backup to the app's Documents folder, which you can open in the Files app. Contacts are never uploaded.

Siri and widgets

Siri and Shortcuts: the shortcuts open Curat on a screen or read the free storage on your device. Apple processes your voice request under its own privacy policy.

Widgets: the widget shows your device's free storage. It shows no photos or personal data.

Purchases

Curat Premium subscriptions and the lifetime purchase go through Apple's App Store, and Apple processes them under its own privacy policy. We don't receive your name, email address or payment details. The app only asks Apple for prices and whether Curat Premium is active on your Apple Account.

Children

Curat isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

When you contact support

If you email support, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to send. We use it only to answer you and to fix the problem you report.
