Sounds and mixes

Tap a mix on the Sounds tab to play it, or tap single sounds to layer your own. Tap a playing sound again to take it out. Tap the bar at the bottom to change each sound's volume, set the timer or the alarm, and save the mix. Free mixes hold 3 sounds; Nod Premium mixes up to 8.

Sleep timer

Tap the timer button and choose from 15 minutes to 8 hours. With Fade out slowly on, the sound fades over the last quarter of the time (up to 10 minutes). The countdown shows on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. Without a timer the sounds play all night.

Wake-up alarm

Tap the alarm button, pick a time and a wake-up sound, and tap Set Alarm. On iOS 26 and later Nod asks to schedule alarms once; the alarm then rings even in Silent mode and during Focus, and you can snooze it for 9 minutes. On earlier iOS versions the alarm is a notification: allow notifications, and keep the Ring/Silent switch on ring.

Breathing, meditation and naps

The Breathe tab has Quick Calm and six exercises: follow the sphere, or close your eyes and follow the sound. The Meditate tab has a timer with bells and four naps that wake you with bowls. Practise sitting or lying down, never while driving or in water, and stop if you feel dizzy.

Siri and Control Center

Say “Play sleep sounds in Nod”, “Play Rainy Night in Nod” or “Set a sleep timer in Nod”. To add the Nod button to Control Center or the Lock Screen, edit Control Center and search for Nod.

Nod Premium

Nod is free to download. Nod Premium adds 34 more sounds, mixes of up to 8, 10 more mixes, every wake-up sound, interval bells and your own breathing rhythm.

Restore a purchase

On a new device or after reinstalling Nod, tap Restore purchases in Settings, using the Apple Account you bought Premium with.

Cancel a subscription

Apple manages subscriptions. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions › Nod, and tap Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least a day before your subscription renews or your free trial ends to avoid being charged. Deleting the app doesn't cancel a subscription. For a refund, contact Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Troubleshooting

The sound stopped at night: a call, an alarm from another app or disconnected headphones pause the sounds. Nod resumes after a call by itself; after headphones are disconnected, tap play.

My podcast stops when Nod plays: turn on Play with other apps in Settings.

The alarm didn't ring: on iOS 26 check that Nod is allowed to schedule alarms in iOS Settings › Nod. On earlier iOS versions, allow notifications and switch the Ring/Silent switch to ring.
