Campfire Privacy Policy
Updated October 14, 2026
Campfire is a guitar chord trainer for iPhone and iPad published by Glory Mae Dagapioso. This policy explains what happens to the information the app handles.
The short version
Campfire has no account, no ads and no servers of ours. It counts how the app is used with Google Analytics for Firebase, without any personal details and never with sound. The microphone is used only while a lesson or a changes round is listening, to hear your chord; nothing is recorded, stored or sent. Your progress stays on your device. Apple handles purchases of Campfire Premium.
The microphone
When you tap Your turn in a lesson or start a changes round, Campfire asks iOS for the microphone. While it listens, the sound is analysed a few thousand samples at a time in the app's memory to recognise the chord, and each piece is overwritten a fraction of a second later. Campfire never records audio, never saves it and never sends it anywhere. The microphone is never used in the background and stops as soon as the lesson or round stops. You can turn microphone access off at any time in iOS Settings › Campfire.
What is stored on your device
Your progress — chords you played cleanly, your best changes for each chord pair, practice days and time — and your settings (left-handed diagrams, sounds, theme, haptics). This information never leaves your device and is deleted with the app.
Usage statistics
Campfire sends anonymous usage events to Google Analytics for Firebase so we can see which features people use and fix what doesn't work: the screen that's open, when a lesson starts and a chord sounds clean, changes rounds and their counts, the strumming pattern and song you open, the Premium screen and purchases (the product and price, as Apple reports them). Each event carries an identifier that Firebase creates for this installation of the app, the app version, device model, iOS version and an approximate region derived from the IP address. Campfire never sends anything the microphone hears, doesn't use the advertising identifier, doesn't track you across other apps and doesn't allow ad personalisation. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. Deleting the app resets the identifier.
Purchases
Campfire Premium subscriptions and the lifetime purchase go through Apple's App Store, and Apple processes them under its own privacy policy. We don't receive your name, email address or payment details. The app only asks Apple for prices and whether Campfire Premium is active on your Apple Account.
Children
Campfire isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
This website
apphunt.app uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It records the usual web request information — pages viewed, approximate region, browser and device type — and does not identify you. The app's own usage statistics are described above.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
