Your first guitar chords. Checked by ear.

Put your fingers where the diagram shows, strum, and Campfire hears whether every string rings. If one is muted or on the wrong fret, it tells you which string to check. A guitar teacher that listens

Most apps say "wrong" and leave you guessing. Campfire tells you what to fix, one string at a time.

Learn

One finger at a time

Clear chord boxes with finger numbers, open and muted strings, and a short tip for every chord. Place the fingers step by step, hear how the chord should sound, then tap Your turn and strum.

Microphone check

Which string, not just "wrong"

Campfire listens to each of the six strings. If one is muted by a stray finger or pressed on the wrong fret, it names that string and shows it red on the diagram. The sound is analysed in memory and never recorded.

One-minute changes

Fast changes make songs work

Pick two chords, start the minute and strum: every clean switch is counted by ear, and your best for each pair is kept, so you can see yourself get faster day by day. Aim for 30 a minute. Prefer to count yourself? Tap after every change.

Questions about Campfire

Do I need to know anything about guitar?

No. Campfire starts with Em, the easiest chord there is (two fingers), and shows the strings, frets and finger numbers on every diagram. You need a guitar in standard tuning.

How does the microphone check work?

Campfire analyses the sound of your strum in memory: it looks for the note of each string you should be playing and for notes that don't belong to the chord, then names the string to fix. Nothing is recorded, stored or sent. Play in a quiet room and let the chord ring.

What are one-minute changes?

A classic guitar-teacher drill: switch between two chords for a minute and count the changes. Doing it daily is the fastest way to play songs without stopping. Campfire counts each clean change by ear, or you can tap to count.

Are the songs licensed?

Every song is traditional or in the public domain, and the words are our own short editions of the traditional texts. Song titles and words stay in their original language.

Is it for left-handed players?

Yes. Turn on left-handed diagrams in Settings and every chord box is mirrored.

Is Campfire free?

Yes. Em, Am, D and G with the microphone check, the changes drill for them, three strumming patterns and seven songs are free with no limits. Campfire Premium adds every other chord, song and pattern.
