Taking the test
The Full IQ Test has 30 questions in five blocks — pattern matrices, number series, spatial rotation, figural logic and working memory — with a 20-minute clock. The Quick IQ Test has 12 questions and 7 minutes. Each block starts with a short explanation. Pick an answer and tap Next, or Skip to move on; a skipped question counts as wrong. In the memory block a sequence appears for a few seconds: tap I've got it when you're ready, then choose it from the options. If the time runs out, unanswered questions count as wrong and you still get your score.
For the fairest result, take the test in a quiet place, in one sitting, without a calculator or notes.
Your score
Your IQ is shown on the standard scale (mean 100, standard deviation 15), with your band, your percentile and a 95% confidence interval: ±6 points for the full test and ±10 for the quick test. Harder questions weigh more than easy ones. The score is an estimate for personal interest, not a clinical assessment — see Settings › About the score.
Retakes
Every question is generated from a rule, so a retake is a new test. Quick tests are always free. The first full test is free; more full tests are part of Quotient Pro. Your past results are listed on the home screen under History.
Certificate and explanations
With Pro, open a result and tap Get your certificate to create a shareable IQ certificate with your name, or Review answers & explanations to see every question, your answer, the correct one and why.
Quotient Pro
Quotient is free to download with no ads. Quotient Pro adds your five-domain cognitive profile, answer explanations, the certificate, unlimited full tests with your progress chart, and practice for each domain.
