Pupila Privacy Policy

Pupila is a light meter for iPhone and iPad published by Glory Mae Dagapioso. This policy explains what happens to the information the app handles.

The short version

Pupila has no account, no ads and no servers, and it collects no analytics. The camera image is analysed in memory to measure light and is never saved or sent. Location is optional and only used on your device to calculate sun times. Apple handles purchases of Pupila Premium.

Camera

With your permission, Pupila reads the live camera image and the camera's own exposure and white-balance settings to calculate light levels, exposure values, color temperature and flicker. Frames are processed in memory for a fraction of a second and then discarded. No photo or video is ever stored, uploaded or shared.

Location

Location is optional. If you open Golden hour or add the Golden hour widget and allow it, iOS gives Pupila your approximate position, which the app uses on the device to calculate sunrise, sunset, golden hour and blue hour. Pupila keeps a rounded copy (about 1 km) on the device so Siri can answer the golden-hour question. It is never sent anywhere.

What is stored on your device

Your settings: units, method, ISO, aperture, shutter, film stock, calibration offsets, plant choices and theme.

Saved readings: readings you choose to save, with their notes. You can delete them or export them as a CSV file.

All of this is deleted with the app.

Purchases

Pupila Premium subscriptions and the lifetime purchase go through Apple's App Store, and Apple processes them under its own privacy policy. We don't receive your name, email address or payment details. The app only asks Apple for prices and whether Pupila Premium is active on your Apple Account.

Children

Pupila isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

This website

apphunt.app uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It records the usual web request information — pages viewed, approximate region, browser and device type — and does not identify you. The app does not use it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
