Fluier Support

Answers to common questions about Fluier, the dog whistle, clicker and training app for iPhone and iPad. Can't find what you need? Email support@apphunt.app.

Getting started

Enter your dog's name when you first open Fluier. Then open the Train tab and start with Charge the clicker: it teaches your dog that the click means a treat is coming. Keep sessions short, about five minutes, and end while your dog is still keen.

The whistle

Signals: Hold sounds while you press; Short is a single blast for attention; Long is the stop or sit signal; Recall is four quick pips; Trill is a rapid rattle, often used for “hurry” or “turn”.

Pitch: drag the slider or tap a preset. Pick one pitch and one signal per command and keep them.

Volume: turn the volume up. The whistle plays even with the ringer switched off.

Dogs hear high tones far better than people. Above about 16 kHz most adults hear little or nothing, but the sound isn't silent, and phone speakers stop at about 20 kHz, so no phone can play a whistle that is truly beyond human hearing. Never play loud tones right next to your dog's ears.

The clicker

The clicker clicks the instant your finger touches the button, so you can mark the exact moment your dog does the right thing. Choose between four sounds in the Clicker tab. Always follow a click with a treat.

Training lessons

Each lesson has a goal, a few steps and a tip. Tap Start session to open the timer, the clicker or whistle for that lesson, and the Good and Missed counters. When you finish, the session is saved to Progress. Mark a lesson as mastered when your dog does it reliably, then move on to the next one.

Several dogs

Each dog has its own sessions, days in a row and mastered lessons. To switch dogs or add one, tap the button next to your dog's name at the top of the Train tab. Adding a second dog needs Fluier Premium.

Daily reminder

Turn on Daily reminder in Settings and pick a time. Fluier asks iOS for permission, then sends one notification a day at that time.

Siri and Control Center

Say “Whistle for my dog with Fluier” to open the app and play the recall signal, or “Open the clicker in Fluier”. To add the Whistle and Clicker buttons to Control Center or the Lock Screen, edit Control Center and search for Fluier. On an iPhone with an Action button, you can also assign either one to it in Settings › Action Button › Controls.

The Home Screen widget opens the whistle or the clicker with one tap. There's also a Lock Screen widget for the whistle.

Fluier Premium

Fluier is free to download. The whistle, the clicker, the clicker basics lessons, the first recall lesson and your training log are free with no limits. Fluier Premium adds every other training program and several dogs.

Restore a purchase

On a new device or after reinstalling Fluier, tap Restore purchases in Settings or on the Premium screen, using the Apple Account you bought Premium with.

Cancel a subscription

Apple manages subscriptions. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions › Fluier, and tap Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least a day before your subscription renews or your free trial ends to avoid being charged. Deleting the app doesn't cancel a subscription. For a refund, contact Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Troubleshooting

No sound: turn the volume up. If a Bluetooth speaker or headphones are connected, the sound plays there.

My dog doesn't react to the whistle: a new signal means nothing yet. Pair it with treats first, in the lesson Link the whistle to treats.

I can't hear the high presets: that is normal for many adults above about 16 kHz; dogs hear them.

No reminder: allow notifications for Fluier in iOS Settings.
