Questions about Unda
Does water eject really work?
It helps with water in the speaker grille. The 165 Hz tone makes the speaker membrane vibrate, which shakes droplets loose and helps push them out; it can't dry the inside of the phone. Run it as soon as possible after the phone got wet, with the speaker facing down and the volume at maximum, and repeat 2–3 times. If crackling remains after four cycles, the speaker may be damaged.
Can Unda fix a water-damaged speaker?
No. Unda can only help move water and dust out of the speaker grille with sound. It can't repair a damaged speaker or reverse water damage inside the phone, so if the sound stays distorted, a repair shop is the next step. Wait a few hours before charging a phone that got wet.
Is it safe for the speaker?
Yes. Unda plays clean tones within the normal range of a phone speaker, fades in and out to avoid clicks, and limits every program to a few minutes. Don't hold the phone to your ear while a program runs, and never wear headphones while one plays.
Does it work with AirPods or a Bluetooth speaker?
The speaker programs always play through the phone's own speaker, even when headphones are connected. The Headphones program plays through connected AirPods or headphones at a reduced level: take them off and lay them mesh-side down first. The tone generator and the headphones test play through whatever is connected.
How accurate is the decibel meter?
It's an estimate. Unda measures through your phone's microphone and shows an A-weighted level in dBA, but phone microphones aren't calibrated instruments, so Unda isn't a certified sound level meter. If you have a reference meter, use the calibration offset in the Meter tab to match it.
Is Unda free?
Yes. Water Eject, Deep Clean, Dust Removal, Turbo, Earpiece, Headphones and Weekly Care, every test, the tone generator and the noise meter are free with no limits. Unda Premium adds Full Care, Vibration, dB Camera, extra waveforms and the hearing-check and ultrasonic presets.
Does Unda record me?
No. The noise meter analyses sound on your device while it runs and keeps no audio. The microphone test keeps one short recording in temporary storage so you can play it back, and the next test overwrites it. Nothing is uploaded, and there's no account.
Does Unda work on iPad?
Yes. Unda runs on iPhone and iPad and tunes the water eject tone to the device: 165 Hz on most iPhones, 175 Hz on compact iPhones and 155 Hz on iPad. It supports light and dark mode and 32 languages.
